![]() ![]() But the sites had a pad that wasn't just dirt. We've had campsites that during rainstorms we've had rivers running through it. As frequent campers we've had many campsites with standing water after rain. We had site 37 and the amount of mud was just.bad. I'm giving four stars instead of five because of the condition of our campsite and also the ticks that were on the dogwood trail. We bought our telescope and had the best time with our son. The limestone trail is also family friendly with a beautiful rock formation midway that is worth seeing. The river trail is family friendly and had so many trees and flowering plants. ![]() Leaving four stars because it's beautiful there. The park itself was very nice and well cared for and the proximity to the springs in the area is a bonus, though we didn't visit those on this trip. We couldn't find the Nature Center so did not visit. The small museum detailing the CCC work in the area was nicely done and worth visiting. Swimming in the Santa Fe river was fun, but it was cold! Suspension bridge is still not open as of. There was a lot of poison ivy so I would definitely stay on the trails. the bathrooms were very clean and well stocked and easily accessible from the campsites with small trails through the woods to the centrally located building. I did hear road noise during the night which was a surprise, but it wasn't too loud. The lots are a little small, but there are many trees so it still felt secluded. We camped in the Dogwood Campground for two nights. We found the trails interesting and well maintained, great picnic areas, and no crowds. This is one of the 8 original Florida State Parks with many structures dating from the 1930's when they were constructed by the CCC. ![]()
